Linens from Mallorca

Mallorca’s roba de llengües begins far from the island. The Asian art of ikat travelled west along the Silk Road and arrived in Mallorca in the 15th century, where local artisans embraced it and slowly made it Mediterranean, softer in spirit and unmistakably their own.

What appears simple is, in fact, one of the most labour-intensive crafts we work with. The yarn is dyed and dried under the Mallorcan sun before being carefully arranged thread by thread on the loom. Even today, many pieces are woven on original English looms brought to the island during the Industrial Revolution and still in use generations later.

Spanish craft, reimagined for today

We reworked Mallorca’s traditional woven language by adjusting the scale of the motifs, refining the colour palette and adapting the compositions for a more contemporary table.

Woven from a 50% cotton, 50% linen blend, these pieces preserve the structure and durability of the original craft while becoming softer with every wash.

Designed for everyday use and made to last, they offer an alternative to mass-produced textiles while helping keep one of Mallorca’s most iconic traditions alive.
