Candles from Valencia
If you think of fire in Spain, you think of Valencia, the city of Fallas, where hundreds of sculptures are built for months and burned in the streets in a single night.
Valencia has always been a land of fire, and it has also long been a land of candle makers: in the first half of the 20th century, more than 60 traditional workshops shaped the region, yet today only five remain, including the one we work with, where Miguel and María José, fourth generation artisans, carry a craft once devoted to candles for churches, processions, and local rituals.
Reimagined for Today
Together, we keep the process fully traditional, using the same family tools passed down through generations and pouring only natural waxes such as beeswax and soy.
From there, we introduce new designs into the workshop (from our marbled candles to textured, irregular surfaces) which the new generation of candle-makers adapts, preserving the craft while pushing its visual language forward.
